If you enjoy working outdoors and have an interest in field biology and/or public health, this is a great job and an excellent way to gain valuable field experience. Primary duties include monitoring wetland habitats for mosquito larvae, site treatments using biological control methods, weekly evening surveys of adult mosquitoes, and accurate data recording. There will also be a limited number of positions available that would involve performing mosquito spray operations during the evening hours. Applicants with entomology experience are also needed to help identify adult mosquitoes in the lab. Classroom and field training will be provided for all aspects of the job. </p> <p> Job Requirements: Applicants must have ability to work independently in a variety of outdoor conditions (hot, cold, rain, etc); the ability to lift up to 50lbs; read maps/aerial photos; an interest in entomology, field biology, and/or public health; a valid driver s license, a reliable vehicle and be at least 18 years old. This is a full-time, seasonal position in which duties include mosquito species identification, counting and sorting, preparing samples for transport and WNV testing, and data entry. The positions are located at our Wheat Ridge, Colorado office. If you enjoy working in a lab and have an interest in entomology and/or public health, this is a great job and an excellent way to gain valuable experience.
